HA...I lied

Post number 2 for today!!! What's up with that? I thought of something and wanted to post it before I forgot.
I am an enabler, and YES, I think I have a mini convert! Nancy of all people! While shopping yesterday she actually bought romaine lettuce instead of iceberg!
Here is the nutritional value for both lettuces if you are curious:
One cup of iceberg lettuce:
  • 8 calories
  • 0.5 gram protein
  • 0.7 gram fiber
  • 10 mg calcium
  • 78 mg potassium
  • 1.5 mg vitamin C
  • 16 mcg folate
  • 13.3 mcg of vitamin K
  • 164 mcg beta carotene
  • 152 mcg of lutein + zeaxanthin
One cup of romaine lettuce has:
  • 8 calories
  • 0.58 gram protein
  • 1 gram fiber
  • 16 mg calcium
  • 116 mg potassium
  • 11.3 mg vitamin C
  • 64 mcg folate
  • 48.2 mcg vitamin K
  • 1637 mcg beta carotene
  • 1087 mcg of lutein + zeaxanthin.
The Romaine lettuce is a better choice.

That is a little step, but what she did next is a pretty big step for her. We were in the produce section of Papa Joe's and she said "what's that small stringy stuff that's on salad bars?" (meaning sprouts) I told her and she BOUGHT THEM!!!!! That just about floored me! LOL
I just made a big salad and added the sprouts so that's what made me laugh for today.
How about you? Anyone else eating healthier out there in bloggyland??? Speak up if so, I'd love to hear what you're doing? Or not doing....just love hearing from you!

Ciao for the second time!

Trying! I've been elimination high fructose corn syrup from the kids diets little by little.
And for the most part I've always picked romaine over iceberg and wheat or whole grain breads over white.
Trying to eliminate soda completely for myself. I'm not a huge soda drinker but was back to one every other day or so.
