Last year was a great one and I expect this one will be even better. Had a lot of great times with great friends (and family) and started to get healthier. I had a lot of little adventures that made the year a blast.
I'm not going to set strict resolutions, that never works. Just like last year, I'm going to continue to live with a healthier attitude, not sweating the small stuff, be kind to others and continue to declutter and keep organized. I'm a horrible pack rat and really worked on that last year. I feel I'm much improved over years past.
On Jan 1st I completed my first scrappy project. My gratitude journal. I got the idea a while back from Emily Falconbridges blog. She's an amazing artist with tons of talent.
Mine is not as messy as hers, I still have a hard time with that. But I like how it turned out and I'm happy to say that I used NO new product, I just opened my scrap patterned paper drawer and dug in. Some scraps were probably in that drawer for 9 years LOL. It has 52 pages in it, one for each week. Each page has seven numbers on it so I can write something I'm grateful for each day of the week. I used an assortment of rubber stamps for the seven numbers and I made a cover for it. I used old stickers and word embellies.
Here it is:
Everynite before I fall asleep I write something...really trying to think of the day that just happened.

I'm happy to report that I'm finally kicking this bug that I've had since THANKSGIVING! I know I should have seen the Dr, but without insurance it would have cost a few arms and legs. There's no way she'd just hand out a script, I knew she'd order tests and x-rays. I just can't afford that now.
And the crazy thing is my poor baby has been dealing with some kind of eye issue for a while now. It was all leaky and inflamed. I couldn't bear to see him like that any longer. I was afraid he'd lose sight and I'd be responsible for that, so I took him to see his Dr. The Dr said that the extra eyelid that dogs have is inflamed, He could have injured it somehow or it's a defect that's just showing up. It's very common in spaniels, and maybe Barq's has some in him somewhere down the line. I've been giving him 2 kinds of eye drops 3 times a day for a week so far. It looks a lot better. The poor baby looked so pitiful over the Christmas holiday.

Well, now that I've talked your ear off I'll bid you adieu....ciao for now. Off to surf.

Awwww...look at sweet little Barq's. I hope he's feeling much better -- be sure to give him some lovin' from Aunt Rita!
Love your gratitude journal -- the idea of a gratitude journal is wonderful!
Love the journal! I'm glad to hear Barq's is doing better. Good luck on the pack rat deprogramming - I think I need to take lessons from you!
